Provincial Tournament Format

(2007-2008)

AAA Boys (March 27-30)

The NBIAA Boys AAA Hockey Tournament format shall be a six (6) team tournament comprising of two divisions of three (3) teams. The teams shall be as follows:

Four (4) regional representatives, one (1) host and a wild card. The wild card will be decided by a committee made up of the four League Presidents and the NBIAA Hockey Commissioner. The total number of games would be seven (7). The CIS scheduling procedure will be used this year.

Tournament play will begin on Thursday and end on Sunday. A total of 7 games will be played.

AAA Girls (March 28-30) 

The NBIAA Girls AAA Hockey Tournament format shall be a six (6) team tournament comprising of two divisions of three (3) teams. The teams shall be as follows:

Four (4) regional representatives, one (1) host and a wild card. The wild card will be decided by a committee made up of the four League Presidents and the NBIAA Hockey Commissioner.

Tournament play will begin on Friday and end on Sunday. A cross-over of the two top teams within each division will be played on Saturday. A total of 9 games will be played. The CIS scheduling procedure will be used this year.

NBIAA Hockey Tournament Format for AA Boys  

(March 27-30)

The NBIAA Hockey Tournament format shall be a six (6) team tournament comprising of two divisions of three (3) teams. The teams shall be as follows:

Three (3) league winners, one (1) host and two (2) wild cards*.  The total number of games would be seven (7). (* a wild card selection committee maybe necessary) The schedule will follow the CIS procedure.  

NBIAA Hockey Tournament Format for AA Girls  

(March 28-30)

The NBIAA Hockey Tournament format shall be a six (6) team tournament comprising of two divisions of three (3) teams. The teams shall be as follows:

The top two (2) teams in each league / region (North and South West), one (1) host and one (1) wild card*. 

Tournament play will begin on Friday and end on Sunday. A cross-over of the two top teams within each division will be played on Saturday. A total of 9 games will be played. The CIS scheduling procedure will be used this year.
